We need to get him an 87 up dash! I want a pair of the the double pods and $50 per sounds fair! I'm afraid if I tried to make them, I'd have my dash and windshield glassed together! lol

As I said in one of my earlier posts, I have an '87-'91 dash that I can let him borrow for a while, if he can use that to make a mold...unfortunately, I can't give that one to him permanently as I have other plans for it  ...that's in addition to the '80-'86 dash that I'm planning to give to him. But, if someone has a spare '87-'91 dash that they can give to him permanently, so much the better :D

I have an 87-91 parts truck with the dash still in it but I don't know about shipping it. Seems to me that the size would make the cost prohibitive.
I guess just the drivers side could be shipped to help in that area though.

Hey Alienturtle,
I'm a retired (career path redirected?) master plug & mold maker in the fiberglass boat building industry.

Interesting, I retired out of glass after nearly 10 years ..Career change...healthier.... and I too am a plug and mould builder for canopies and greenhouses and just about anything else. I did a few years in car audio custom installs which used the exact methods Alienturtle uses for custom one offs. Built plenty of speaker/sub enclosures and some custom centre consoles as well.

I agree with you Bio that this could be a decent cottage industry. He can custom build for basically the 80-86 dash, 87-91 and 92-97 and have singles dual and triples, maybe for say 2" - 2 5/16" which is what I plan to use. (eyes not so good no more)

His work on these is great and I feel he could do well with them.

Absolutely! I have toyed with the idea myself but have way too many irons in the fire already.. We have got to learn the boy up on draft angle, mold release wax and PVA, because right now he's making a lot of extra work for himself just building plugs, albeit gorgeous plugs ;Sweet
