What color is the wire that goes to the factory temp probe?
What color is the wire that goes to the over-heat switch?

I don't know the wire colors, but I believe that our engines all gave the same connectors on those senders. The one for the temp gauge has a straight connector while the over temp light uses one that's 90*. Out of your wiring harness, the wire for the temp gauge should be a little bit shorter than the one for the over temp light. Now I may be wrong since it's been over 20 years since I've touched a 1994.

I'm not finding either name in the Engine Controls section. There's the Engine Temp Switch which controls the cold advance solenoid, colors GY/R and R/LG. Somehow I can't send the picture from my phone.

In the instrument cluster section, I find a temp sensor. This picture I could send.

Ive got a white wire with what appears to be a blue stripe on it. It has a 90* fitting on the end of it.
The white wire with blue stripe has had the 90* fitting spliced on to it.
And then I have a red wire with a white stripe that has been cut off.

Can anyone look at yours and let me know what wire you have to your temp probe and overheat sensor please

Coolant temp sensor wire for the gauge is red wire with a white stripe.

Are we sure a 94 has a overheat switch on it? The diagrams did not show it, but that doesn't mean much sometimes.

1986 diagram doesn't show it either and I know an 86 had it.

This diagram shows it. It's the same year as mine, a 1989. I do not have a light in the dash. When the over temp switch activates, it's tied into the coolant temp sender wire and it makes the temp gauge peg suddenly. It says the over temp wire color in 1989 was red/white(same as the coolant temp sensor) or a white/lightblue wire.
