What would be a good deal on a 1990 F250 xlt lariat 112K, somewhat rough body, but in decent shape? I was presented with this option by my mechanic to buy this vehicle to transplant my 1979 f150 body onto. We were in the middle figuring out the install of a 7.3idi into the '79 f150. I think this may be the better option going with the heavier frame, axles, etc...This project has already cost quite a bit more than anticipated, so wanted to know what people thought a very good deal for the f250 would be? thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I agree. If the '79 body is cherry, it is a natural swap to get the 7.3 and heavy suspension. Best cost is what makes sense to you. I would not pay more than $1000 for the f250, maybe less. They are trying to get rid of the truck, you are doing them a favor.

I agree, I picked up my 87 6.9 Reg cab with a blown headgasket and rough interior for about 800

I picked up my IDI truck with a bad body for $300. However, I had the 80-86 cab to put on it.
Trying to put your body on the 90 frame will be fun. IIRC, the 80+ frames are 4" wider than the 79 down.

Thanks for the input guys, the seller wanted $1500 which sounded a little high to me too, so I will definitely start negotiations lower since getting your input.Thanks.
