Exhaust smell in cab!

So i am having a tough time locating the source of an exhaust smell in the cab!

It only smells at lights once the truck is warmed up, when cold I smell nothing.

I am leaning towards exhaust manifold being cracked, warmed, or requiring a new gasket, but cant really get close enough to it to find out!

Any common sources of a condition like this? or a good way to find the leak?

I have tried spraying leakcheck all over it and putting a ribbon on a stick and holding it near every accessable area, trying to find this leak.

I figure it must be a decent sized leak If i smell it in the cab.

if you can get to them, check your manifold bolts. yesterday when i took my manifolds off my heads i was quite surprised that a few of them were pretty loose. they weren't leaking, but i could have got them loose using a 3/8" drive ratchet rather than then breaker bar i needed on others.

I tried the few I could accesss and they were tight. Did you need to do anything for access besides removing the wheels/fender splash guard things? I havent taken those guards off yet Probably get a lot better access with them gone.

Did you try the old banana in the tailpipe trick? Or at least someone's hand helping to create a little more back pressure. You should have a trail of soot where any exhaust is escaping.

Havent thought of that yet; Ill have to try that when I get off work tomarrow. There are some soot stains all over the underside of the truck from past exhaust leaks so it makes it tough to tell, I have a feeling with the increased back pressure though it might become more obvious!
