Exhaust Recommendation - 1988 F250 w/ Gen1 Banks Turbo

So, I have a 1988 F250 that someone cut the exhaust off of at some point in history.

To get the provincial safety so it can be registered, I need to have an exhaust on it. It has the first generation Banks turbo on it, and has a 3" downpipe.

Can anyone recommend a good exhaust for this truck? I want something fairly free flowing, but I'm OK with quieting it down a bit in order to remain on good terms with the neighbours.

A nice catback exhaust might work not sure though I'm a nonturbo teuck owner for now just figured that might work,or search in scrapyard for a og exhaust from a truck your yr model

Buy a 3 or 3.5 inch obs powerstroke exhaust. Itll be a pretty easy install and lots of good options for decent money.

@BrianV Hey a local member! I am in the Greely / Osgoode area.

I put the Dynomax exhaust on mine; with the turbo I like it. My turbo install thread has some info... not sure if the powerstroke kit is a better starting point.

What are the requirements for the exhaust I live where there isn't a safety inspection so everything goes I have a 3 inch strait pipe but I know some areas require oem standard parts

The Ontario Passenger-Light Duty Safety Standards handbook status that the muffler must exist, not be cracked, perforate, bypassed, or disabled, and must meet the OEM Standard. The OEM standard item is really a discretionary item - by the book, you need to basically have either the OEM muffler, or a direct match aftermarket replacement. In practice, I'm not sure I've heard of anyone fail for a non-OEM muffler, as long as it was reasonable.
