Notice at the botton of the page the pistons from the psd are the same size as the idi turbo piston is. So if we had the money we could make an direct engection head for the idi and run those pistons... Maybe...:sly:dunno:angel:

They have a error in the rist pin diameter its NA 28.18 mm and IDIT 33.18mm and they say water pump rotates counter clockwise on a NA but its Clockwise. I'm not sure about the surp belt setup I've never seen one... The problem with the di pistons is the hole in the center is where the injector sprays, it acts like a pre-combustion area for the engine. that's also how they reduce the CR.

That says that a turbo on an IDI only raises it by 5 hp. lol. All in all though, not bad. I'd say it's pretty well thought out and well done.

I'm not seeing the 6.9 water pump turning clockwise in this read. Na idi piston pins are 28mm where both the psd and the turbo idi are 33mm. True the fin count on the na oil cooler WAS at one time lower than the turbo oil coolers but now the higher fin count is all we can buy. Funny the na idi water pump is pushing 1 gallon per minutes more than the turbo idi. Yes the psd piston dome shape is much different than the idi turbo piston but it still will bolt directly into the turbo idi. Because its never been done I really curious as to what the outcome would be. Probably a very hard starting low compression engine that may not even start.

Thats always been the deal with the exhaust valves. Inconel is very expensive. Its actually a very hard high grade stainles steel thats resistant to abrasion and heat. I was a tig welder doing inconel welds for several years in the steam turbine path. Funny how steam or very hot water can melt thru metal like it does. What we did was weld up those cuts. File it down or machine it down. Then block hone the surfaces back to perfect. Most of the times you could see the weld in the turbine metals but could not feel them.
