Hey guys, I bought a '89 F350 and it has an ATS turbo on it. The truck was about 2 or 3 years old when the turbo was put on it if this helps at all with what exactly I am talking about. It doesnt look like the factory set up on the 93-94's, the filter box looks a lil different. Anyways, how much boost should this be making? The guy I bought it from says it will make about 10 lbs on a good day, but when it gets up to 10 lbs then it will bleed off pressure, so I am assuming it is a wastegated turbo...any thoughts?

Ten psi sounds about right for an ATS. Could be plus or minus to account for altitude, engine condition factors, etc. EGTs really start to go up on a long pull at higher sustained boost levels, so unless you add an intercooler, 10 psi is just about right.

If the actual turbo hangs off the back of the engineit's most likely an 088 non wastegated, but if it hangs off the passenger side corner then it's most likely a 093 wastegated Either way 10 lbs sounds about right if everythings been setup

Well I took it for a spin tonight to the DOT scale cause I was curious how much it weighs with the camper that came with it and its 9500 lbs. Here are a couple pics of the turbo...

OK well now I know I didnt screw it up somehow, although thats very likely still haha. Does anyone know what a CC longbox DRW 2wd 7.3 5 spd should weigh with nothing in the box? I am guessing around 6500 lbs or so....

Hmmm....still doesnt seem like the picture loader thing is workin. When I had thsi truck out for a spin the other day, I planted it and the guage came up to about 7 psi at 2500 rpm...would it create more boost at 3000 rpm?
