Do a search on "cowl air". Use a piece of 4inch aluminum dryer ducting and cut a hole in the fire wall by the brake booster. I did this to my truck a while back and have been very happy. EGT's are lower and I have had no problems with this set-up.
There are pics in "my garage"

The banks is right at 2 5/8" inner dia at the bottom and it's 2 1/2 at the top id. I actually have a brand new one that I don't need if you want it. $95 del to you there in napa ca. and I can send you a pic if you want. Or anyone else, shipping might be a little more.

re:

I did get the banks, Went in easy enough, Had to cut the lip on the fire wall and bend it back, The part that gave me the most trouble was fitting that marmon clamp back on, With the new down pipe & free flow exaust my EGT's droped about 200 deg.
It took a while talking to Banks as to what down pipe I wanted, They said they don't have p/n's for these that they pull them out of kits ??? I think I paid around $110 for mine a few months back.
Good Luck,
Bill

When I got my banks DP it was the same diameter from top to bottem. I measured it and it was just a hair over 2 3/4" ID and 3" OD. They use thick wall tubing on it. On mine I did not have to modify the lip on the firewall, i went right in. I agree, the hardest part is that stupid clamp!
