New problem with my truck. As the title says, it doesn't start on the key. The key operates the accesories, and the fuel solenoid, but not the starter. I recently replace the neutral start switch on the C6 and it worked fine. Last week it just failed to crank with the key.
I think I need to pull the instrument cluster and check the switch that sits on the steering column. Does anyone have the pin outs so I can check the switch operation?

Maybe I'm didn't get it right but have You tried to turn the key to the ON position and short the terminals on the starter relay at the pass side fender, this happened to Me and it was the relay. If not it could also be the starter solenoid but usually You can hear it click.

Yeah, I guess i could have been clearer....
I start it from under the hood; by shorting the GP relay for a few seconds, and then short across the starter relay. Starts quickly.

The switch on the trans passes your crank position switch voltage to the relay. Take a test probe and have somebody hold it in the crank position while you verify you have voltage going in and coming out.

Thought I should close out this thread.
The neutral switch was bad. It failed within a few weeks of being installed!
Rather than pay another $30 or so for another bad switch, I simply jumpered across the pink/ blue wires, and it starts on the key.
I suppose I should post a warning sign in the cab that tells people not to be stupid--the engine will start in any gear!

Actually, there is another, mechanical interlock built into the column shift mechanism. It ONLY permits you to turn the key to "start" if the tranny is in either Park or Drive.
Its good to know that someone is looking out for me--to prevent me from starting up in gear and running over someone---I hate it what that happens! I must run over people at least several times a week.

Go Terps!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Terps!!
But from a guy in SC?!??
Terps football is looking rather poorly, this year.
Gary Williams' BB team will start a lot of underclassmen. I am hoping that they will be competitive by March Madness.

Oh, I see you have a '65 Falcon Convert. I had a '64 Sprint Convert when I was in high schools ( 40 years ago). I also restored another '64 Sprint Convert about 10 years ago and sold it. I saved it from the crusher, and sold it for what I had in it, but I recently saw an article in Hemmings where the value has sky-rocketed. In fact, the value curve began its meter-like rise just about the time I sold mine. Just another example of my "buy high, sell low" timing.
So how is your convert? Mine was in very poor shape when I got it. Driving at walking speed across a gravel parking lot produced enough flex that you could see the doors moving in their jambs! I put in new ( custom-made) inner rockers of 12 ga steel, front torque boxes and several sections of floor. When I was done, I could get three wheels off the ground by jacking any corner of the car. It was rigid!
