I don't even have the front clip on . I just have the basics hooked up to check for issues before installing everything else . I'm not trying to drive it , just want to try to start it . I don't have power to the IP and gauges along with many other things for some reason , which is why I was wondering if it needed power to disengage something and allow it to shift .

You more than likely bumped the selector lever when you installed it. In neutral the lever should be hanging down about 30 degrees towards the engine. Remove the MLPS and see if it is damaged, the two bolts for the MLPS torque is 55-75 in.lbs. You would have to remove the pan to see if anything is wrong inside.

No nothing special just a cable from the shifter. Like it's been suggested a couple times, jut make sure nothing is binding up.

I'll check that out in the AM . So by pulling the mlps I'm not going to have springs and complicated small parts fly everywhere am I ? Just allways been scared to work on autos , lol .

I can't see anything binding , also just put a new filter and pan gasket in .. Trans looked normal .

No it's nothing crazy. It's pretty simple and easy. Just pull the nut for the lever and pop it off and then pull the two bolts for the switch and while it's off wipe it down so you can see the lines if it's dirty cause you'll need to line them up later with the trans in neutral. If you can too, move your column lever to where the linkage will slip on and verify what gear it's stuck at.

I'm pretty sure its stuck in 2nd . When I bolted the shifter lever back on I could see where the nut use to sit so I shifted the lever to 2nd and it bolted on right in the old nut position . I'm in Medford .

Sounds like something got whacked and maybe disconnected the selector pin from the manual valve.

I pulled the pan back off . Apparently I shifted it passed 1st which made the metal tab with a small roller on the end , which sits in the gear grooves, fall off and cause it to bind .

Sorry for the poor description of the parts , just haven't ran into them before so I don't know the correct names :)
