Maybe a bit off topic, but I've built a few late 80's through mid 90's mechanical Cummins powered F350 crewcab 4x4's for customers who wanted the toughest and most reliable vehicle for rough service.
One truck filled a bill in Northern Canada where they were 300 miles from the nearest place that fix thier new Duramax truck. The first solution was buy a second duramax crewcab to use anytime one broke. That worked for a few months until both trucks broke at the same time. The 91 F350 crew 4x4 P7100 12V ZF 6 speed NP205 with 3.54's, 33" tires, rear detroit tru-trac, 8274 Warn has been going for 3 years now, zero issues except an easy fuel line problem. The F350 cost them under $30K with tons of upgrades (mostly interior and front suspension stuff). They got rid of the duramax trucks and are very happy with the single Ford.
