lol nice that guy is running a huge cb amp

the 3g is 3rd gen of ford alterantors

its found on the 90s and early 2000s taurus
you want the 130 amp unit this will have 2 holes between the stiffening ribs
they are also on the 300 6 vans with ac but thats hard to find in a yard
there is a techa rticle on it
the wiring is the hardest part and that is still easy
it will bolt into your sotck alts position just swap the pulley

All of these Ford vehicles

had the 130amp 3G

(1994-95) Ford Mustang 5.0L
(1994-00) Ford Mustang 3.8L
(1994-97) Ford Thunderbird, Mercury Cougar 3.8L
(1990-95) Ford Taurus, Mercury Sable 3.8L
(1993-99) Ford Taurus, Mercury Sable 3.0L
(1995-98) Ford Windstar 3.8L & 3.0L
(1991-94) Lincoln Continental 3.8L
(1992-97) Ford F Series Pickup
(1992-96) Ford E Series Van

Be carefull there was a 95amp 3G, it's ok, but not high-power
Most of the 130amp 3G's will crank out 140-160amps.
there are about 6 different mounting styles. 2 are good:
The first picture shown will fit the early Serp belt trucks and older V-belt trucks

The second picture shown will only fit the V-belt trucks well. you can fab some exxtra brackets and force it to fit the early serp belt systems, but it's not pretty.

The 3rd picture came stock on the later serp-belt trucks. However most were 95amps stock.

Ford part # F6UU-10300-FA is a 130amp 3G alternator that will fit the later serp trucks.
Last I checked dealer

cost was over $225, shop around and on eBay or Ford Fuel Injection.
That part number was on:
(1997-03) Ford E Series Van, F Series Pickup 4.2L
(1995-01) Ford Explorer, Ford Ranger 4.0L

you will also need to run a second vbelt to get anything over 85ish amps. 1 belt will slip around that load. Luckily i already have a double vbelt pulley. i think all of that is in the article above

If you are refering to the second groove for the vacuum pump belt......that pulley won't work. The V belt grooves are two diferent sizes, so you can't run belts in parallel.

Besides if you use the second groove for a dual belt setup, how are you going to drive the vacuum pump?

Well time to dig through the pile of parts and do the 3g swap. The regulator and alternator and toast. I think I have a couple laying around. I just have to pick up the regulator plug when oreillys opens tomorrow.

Yes they do. My truck is the original externally regulated 100 amp stuff which all took a big dump.
