Dana 60 worth going to get?

I live in CA and went to school in AZ. I have a bunch of buddies the live in AZ that could go get this for me today. Would this be a good cannidate to swap into my 89 or is this the super duty axle?

be patient.
1)the '99 and up have metric studs.
2)they have the failure prone hubs that will set you on your ass at $300/side.
3)the spring mounts are roughly 1.5" spread out. you will have cocked springs but that issue can be modded by a guy with skills like yours.

oh yea....
'79 did have a high pinion D60 but you will need to do fab work.
'80-'85 Ford thought the consumer would buy into the IFS ********.
they went back to the D60 in '86. the consumer won

if you are getting all the other goodes like track bar and mount as well as the springs and mounts, it's a very fair deal.

1983 Dana 60 front complete just missing one of the locking hubs. 600$ I think this is the one!

just got off the phone with him. he said it is still in the vehicle and he will give me all the brackets and everything!!

if it is an '83 it's a conversion.
F350's of that vintage was IFS d50'S

83 did not have a D60 solid axle.

sorry i didnt read towcats post up above right. When i spoke with him he said he had 3 trucks that were getting torn apart. He is soposed to get me some pics so hope its a dana 60...

Alright guys I just got off the phone with him and The axle is a DANA 60 straight axle from a 1989 F350 Its is still in the vehicle and he said he knows exactly what i am doing. He said he is pulling the axle tomorrow morning and my buddy that lives i az has tomorrow off so he is going to snag it for me. Also told him to make sure i get all the brackets off the frame and the plate for the u bolts. He said its all yours for 600$ cash. BAM SOLD!

I;m watching one that the guy is asking 900 for but the steering was torch cut and theres no springs.

I can't do anything right now since the income tax check is help up.

Kinda depressing.

you don't need the stuff holding the springs to the frame. just reuse the rears and turn around the shackles on your front. track bar bracket is a mandatory must get though.

yeah i know that. i am going to use my 4" lift springs i have now. What i ment was the the track bar bracket and the special plate that goes under the axle where the u bolts attach too. Im excited

Get the F350 front driveshaft(double cardian joint) and the front yolk off the F350 t-case(the F250 will NOT work with the F350 shaft0
