Damaged compressor housing

Well well well, the turbo is sitting in the garage reassembled. The machine shop did a great job, and it cost me $110. Just waiting on some things from ATS to arrive so I can put the whole thing on the truck.
Whew, glad that part's over with.

Did you order from Ats direct??
I called them about the oil drain back casting seal and they told me to call Certified Power Systems.
I called and ordered the seal on Jan. 26th It was being dropshipped from Ats.
I called Certified Power today because I still have NO seal,And they checked and Ats never shipped.
they said I will have it Monday.
Any how I am glad the compressor housing deal worked out.

What? I don't know what's up with ATS. The first guy I talked to was worthless and told me that I basically couldn't buy anything other than an entire kit. I called back a week later, spoke to somebody else, and ordered everything I wanted. Go back to the "swapping turbos" thread I started a week or two back and blow up Joe's thumbnail. I ordered the parts I needed by just giving the guy the #'s attached to each part, one through fifty- not by actual part #. Couldn't have been simpler. If you call ask for Jacob. He's very helpful. I told him that another guy was no help and he said to ask for him if I needed anything. So do that.
I got my seals and 3" exhaust elbow today. Elbow's already on the turbo. I am stoked. Depending on weather I may get into it tomorrow.

Looks like a 3 way race now to see which one of us gets our turbo on and the truck running first.

If I'm lucky I might see my rebuild kit and banks wheel by monday but hoping for at least wednesday. Hopefully I can get the "Bronze Star" back together and running by Wednesday night .......Only 58 more items on the checklist.........till I find out about something else I need to put on it

I've got the turbo sitting on the kitchen table assembled with new seals, all the hardware laid out, and I am doing a fair weather dance to appease the gods. Contemplating an animal sacrifice too. I would really like to get it done tomorrow or Sunday. So depending on weather and how beligerant the downpipe and uppipe slipfits in that danged old turbo are gonna be, I'll be done before you Tonka. Neener neener neener.

Guess I'm kinda sucking with the whole engine out of the truck...Looking like good weather in the 50's and 60's through tuesday so I should be able to get it pretty well wrapped up

BTW shops heated too so there

All my turbo parts came in today Game on baby, I'm motivated now, compressors cranked up, heats on and the air tools are singing happy tunes.

Nice turn around on time, 5 days door to door to door. I sent it out for balancing on Tuesday to Ron's Turbo Service in Salt Lake City, did a really nice job cleaning it up and balancing it.

Well, here it comes... that y-pipe on the old ATS won't give. Its been soaked and slammed and won't wiggle a bit. And I can't get the top stud out of the pass. manifold so I can't twist the y-pipe. There's just not enough room to get anything on that stud.
Anybody have any words of wisdom about getting that thing loose from the turbo? Ryan? John?
I have been cursing ATS anew today about that thing. Its what hung me up when I pulled one of these last year. Its driving me nuts.

Looking like ......I MIGHT GET MY ENGINE IN TOMORROW BEFORE YOU GET THAT STUD OUT....Neener neener neener.

Yep and I have all of tomorrow, monday, tuesday etc...Ahhhhhhh, Retirement is great .

Go to church first , say a prayer and then take your time on the stud like I posted in the other thread so you don't snap it off and end up with a whole new problem and another trip to the mackine shop.

I'm dropping my engine in tomorrow afternoon and hopefully have it running by Monday afternoon.....If I don't take too many naps
