D50/d60 quiestion

Ok I really wanna put my dana 60 under my truck but I need the peice that the tierod connects to for my powerstokes dana 60.is a dana 50 the same

D60 and D50 TTB steering linkages are different.

These are factory linkage setups.

By steering linkage do you mean the tierods or were they connect at the wheels

Steering box to pitman arm

Pitman arm to drag link

Drag link to tie rod

Tie rod to steering knuckles...aka ties them together...

Which part?

The tie rod ends connect to the knuckles on either end of the axle via a tapered hole in a arm. The arm is cast into the knuckle. It's one piece. Only way you don't have one is if someone cut it off.

I'm guessing he's talking about the pitman arm, aka the big cast-iron lever that connects the whole linkage to the steering box? If so then yes you can use the D50 one, no it's not the same as the D60 one and thus your wheels won't be able to turn quite as sharp, but still it will connect to both the steering box and the draglink in a safe and secure manner. Same holds truth for 2wd pitman arms as well, really as long as it came from a '80-'96 truck (or van) you can use any pitman arm, just your max steering angle will vary from one to another.

Knuckles for 50 completely different from 60

The big piece the steering links connect to and also has the top and bottom ball joints? I think that is what most people call a knuckle.

I do have a left and a right from my removed D50 to sell but am not sure what they are worth.

I'm in TX so they will have to be shipped.

But the D50 and D60 knuckles are not interchangeable as far as I know.

I thought I read they are swappable.

They aren't the same. No idea if they are swappable or not but I doubt it.

IIRC, someone swapped the knuckles from a 60 onto a 50 a few years ago for a smaller turning radius, or maybe it was just the pitman arm?

Someone will chime in on this I'm sure....
