I know the D60 swap is almost a direct bolt in for the TTB F-250's. What about a Hi-pin dana 44 out of a 78-9 F-250? The U-bolts would be narrower I know but what about steering linkage and stuff? I will have to wait till I get home to check my axle guide and check the spring pad widths but they should be the same. Comments?

Pads are narrower on a 70's truck, the frame is 4" narrower on a 78/9, and the differential isn't as far off to the drives side as an 85+ D60, so, it requires re-building the engine crossmember, or 6" of lift.
Steering on the 70's trucks is push pull, ala Chebby/Dodge, not crossover like the 85.5+ trucks.
Basicly, it's a whole pile of extra work.
