The majority of the big dumb mud trucks are hacked together like this, and for events with fences and grandstands they are ok. Mind you the majority of the events you find trucks like that have little or no tech inspections and have questionable safety in general.
My only real beef with the popularity of these things and the whole trucks gone wild scene is lots of younger builders see this stuff and use it works fine for trucks gone wild to justify their build that does see pavement or the trail; where guys like me get stuck getting their broken hacked together junk off of the trail, because 99% of the time they show up totally unprepared for breakage, usually lots of booze though.
