Thought some people might be interested :)

Someone dropped a turbo OM606 into a 123...

Someone (probably the same guy) turbocharged an OM601...

Someone took a 123 wagon and stuck a giant intercooler in front of the radiator, and it looks like there's a fan-belt driven blower on the port side in addition to the oversized turbo

It'd be amazing to see what sort of power numbers those cars are putting out...I also wonder how long they'll live, and if there were any internal mods? But, it's at least evidence that you can beef up the "underfed hamsters" ;)

at least somebody noticed my tag in my sig line ;Sweet
I do like the thinking of the last project but I would have thought they would put the blower and turbo in series tho. I worked on a detroit powered firetruck before that had a blower stuffing the turbo. Worked good enough to snap axles on a regular basis. those of you familiar with the sfbay area, CA92 is a pretty steep highway. The surface streets in the towns surrounding it are just as nasty if not a little worse. Put the chauffeur behind the wheel of a fully loaded bus and its a recipe for snapping axles ;p

if nothing else....those pics just gave me a spark of inspiration of putting an IC in my '79 ;Sweet

You would think the driver(s) would learn to be gentle on the throttle at takeoff...oh, who am I kidding? :rotflmao I bet she would sound mean with a straight pipe, though! ;Sweet

Hmm, an intercooled EGR-less 617...especially with the extra front-end space on a 116. You could have some fun with that :D Has anyone played with the ALDA on the '79 yet?

There should be some good space on the port side of the engine compartment for that blower :D
