97 PSD F-super duty.... ok so i dont mess around with many PSDs but i had a STANDARD CPS fail out of the box. missing under load.

OEM ford unit instantly solved it. ford unit was smaller on the sensor end. both were gray. each having its own mfg markings.

purple o-ring on the OEM unit. black on the STANDARD.

now a few weeks ago a friend with a 95 PSD coming from Eureka area calls to complain that his truck has been cutting out randomly once or twice a week.

my parts guy sold him a standard CPS and he has 3000 miles on it with no issues. so i cant be too mad.

worth the extra couple bucks for OEM

I agree. It's hard to beat OEM. However, I do carry Alliant Power sensors, and have not had any problem with them.

ya get what ya pay for.
I learned a long time ago that the psd likes OEM parts
may be more expensive, but worth it in the end

I agree on the OEM. When the ICP was replaced on my 6.0, I went to Ford and got it... one of the box stores has one but it was like 10 bucks difference. I went OEM and have not had a hiccup since. I had to wait for mine to be ordered, the local Ford dealer was out of stock because Ron had just put on in another 6.0 during the rally. Mine was the second with the peanut gallery in the "stadium seating".

Years ago, I was a 100% NAPA user, but they have slipped in recent years. I have had better luck with "The Zone" here lately vs NAPA.

Yep I'm an oem believer too with the strokers.
Alliant has been making a good name lately with the 7.3 guys.

I went with an International CPS, my truck runs much better than it did with the ford recall CPS.
