About $100 assuming nothing is wrong. Freon is about $20/lb, and ours take a little over 2 lbs, and most shops charge about $60 to hook up.

If you have some pressure in it, get a set of guages and recharge it yourself. I am buying a evac machine for myself now. I got a used one for $500 with a full bottle.

82... Just find a refrigerator that has leaked out the freon or a small water cooler and use that for the vacuum pump. All you need to do is weld on shrader fitting that you can get from inner tubes or off the floor in any tire shop.

R-12 is ~$75/lbs around here. I thought my truck (which is 134a) held closer to 3.5-4lbs, but I could be way off - never have messed with it and it works great.

R12 is $20.00 per pound all day long on Ebay Just go to www.imaca.org and download the test and then sign up and take the test while you use the study guide (answers) thats in front of you. When you pass you get a cretification number and a "promise" to follow all the rules (yeah sure) and your in business able to buy and sell R12 on Ebay. I have bought it for $6.50 per pound there.
