Compression ratio

Whats the lowest anyone has got the compression ratio down to? I know the raised wrist pin and shaving pistons drops it some. But has anyone got it down to 17.5 or 17:1?

There was an insane 1200 hp drag racing IDI back in the day that had… I wanna say like… 16:1 or 15:1. But of course starting was incredibly difficult. I’d imagine it would be at 17:1 as well.

My truck is somewhere between 19:1 and 20:1, and I have higher psi injectors, it starts and runs really good. I also like the sound.
