Typ4 is the person to answer this question best. He is the member that tried these springs. From wht I recall all you do is install them as you would the oem springs.. BTW both the intake and exhaust springs are the same pressure and design. Funny how that was designed...

they require some shimming, I have been using a stock spring that is a drop in and is 20 lbs heavier than stock with a .030 shim

what is the advantage of a stiffer spring? more reliability at higher rpms so the tops of the pistons don't get nice little smiley faces on them?

Exactly. Also at higher boost levels that is especially important cus you have more pressure from boost pushing the valve toward the piston. Valve float can be killer.

No. Valve springs wont come with a shim set. Thats something the shop will have.

Comp Cams does actually sell a shim for them as well. Can't remember the size though.
