The other morning I started my truck and had a knock for abt. 3 seconds, quick looked at the oil pressure gauge and it was just starting to clime.

My running oil pressure hot is 60 down the road and 20-25 idle.

Question is, is there a check valve that could be hanging open other than what's at the filter letting the oil drain back ?
Filters are remote mount.

This has never happened before no matter how long the truck sat.

Thanks
Dennis

Sorry, should have stated, Florida abt 60 deg.
Doubt it had anything to do with temp.

Thanks

Are you sure it was a mechanical knock, and not popping out the intake?

Definately mechanical.
The same knock you would hear starting up after oil change until the pump primes.

Like I said this is new, as soon as the oil pressure gauge needle moves the knock stops.
Just wondering if the oil is draining back out of the lines going to the filter head.

Thanks
Dennis
