Hey guys,

I clutch took the transmission out and replaced the rear main, clutch, and fly wheel. I’m trying to put the slave cylinder on but I can get it onto the fork.

Is this any special way of doing this?

Thank you

I am assuming you removed the plastic retainer strap that came on the new slave? If so, you're gonna have a heck of a time getting it in without that. If possible, put the retainer back on, slip the slave in, and then release the tabs on the retainer but keep it on the end of the rod so it doesn't happen again in the future. I don't know for sure, but I have heard, that once the slave rod is extended out of the truck, it ruins the slave. I haven't had that happen so can't say. Just throwing that out there.

I had the same fight with my ZF5 install. I'd read around, and for some reason if you disconnect the linkage at the pedal it makes it easier to compress. Worked for me, but also took a bit of time operating and adjusting to get the air out since the rod was fully extended.
