You need a special type chrome removel tool for that. Find a windshield replacement shop and look at the tool. I removed mine without and bent the crap out of them. There is a direction as to how it comes off too. Then you will probably find the glass is glued inplace.
I have the chrome off, I like it better without the chrome strips around the windshield. I was wanting to know can I put a seal or something in the place of the chrome trim? Mine really are not bent they kinda slide off and it leaves the hardware pieces on the truck.
Yea it's not gonna look too good without something there. You could fab up some styrene strips or something, but the reality is Ron's suggestion will probably give you the look you want with the least amount of effort.
