I put basic stuff in. Bought a whole bucket of oil.

Now is the time to consider things like a deeper pan, temperature probe, and/or possibly an external filter.

I put in some Lucas transmission snake oil in at the same time. It may have helped something. Didnt do anything bad.

Sold that E350 over 10 years ago now.

These were fist fight level discussions 20 years ago. Mercon vs Mercon V got people banned.

I only use Motorcraft Mercon V because Mercon was discontinued. That was a rage bait discussion too of using other brands.

Motorcraft filter, new felpro gasket, you may or may not have an inline filter up by the radiator. Follow your lines.

Do not forget to check that the old pan filter's o ring comes off and doesn't stick in the valve body. Double stacking the o ring will have the filter be too low, then crack when tightening on pan, then you let trash through the crack.

Use Mercon V only. Mobil 1 is good if you decide on the synthetic route. Other mystery fluids can to this tranny into a very expensive repair bill. Unless you find damage the pan gasket is reusable. As for the filter, Ford or Wix.
