camshaft gear removal tips

I have to return my camshaft core and to do so means removing the cam gear off the camshaft on my 94 IDI. Anyone on here have any tricks to getting the gear retaining allen head bolt off without stripping out the bolt head? That thing is TIGHT. Heat it up with a propane torch to remove the screw and then press it off???? I hate beating myself up when it's unnecessary.

Use a longer handle on the wrench. A small pipe works good. You won't strip the bolts if your wrench is good.

Impact and a plug Allen the correct size. Spun mine right off.
