truck was leaking a ton of fuel via return caps.
also oil from the valve covers.
so I replaced the valve cover gaskets yesterday and the return lines this morning.
btw passenger valve cover is fun.
anyway, fired it up, figured I'd run down the road and get some tobacco and make sure the trucks running fine.
trans wouldn't shift into 3rd tho... I pulled over and checked under the hood... figured I piched a vac line. sure enough the two vac lines from the vrv were pinched. no biggie, I moved the air filter and got them free. While I was at it, I checked the lines from the vac pump all the way back to the trans, everything else checked out. Went on down the road again and same thing.
so, got home pulled the vac lines at the ip, vaccuum in one, so that doesn't seem like the prob.
any other things I should check? i could shift into 1st/2nd/but third was just like 2nd.
which way do you move the vrv to get it to shift lower.
and no, I don't have a vaccuum gauge.
