Has anyone done this? My buddy is considering it. We understand the gear difference's, shifter, etc. Will his flexplate work?

You'd need a vrv to for the vacuum to the trans.

Do you have a C6? I am swapping to a T19 and my C6 will be available.

All my trucks have C-6's it is definatley the way to go. You need the VRV and a kickdown link but other than that bolt in. Ratio is fine just no overdrive.

Auto to auto should be pretty easy. You really only need the VRV as long as the driver is smart enough to downshift when she's under a heavy load climbing a hill or something like that. The C6 will take a lot of abuse..almost anything except running it out of oil or constant "stack shifting" and constant vaccum. I do not know if the E4OD flex plate and flywheel will work...they might though.

I don't know the details of the switch, but I do know lots of guys that have spent big $$ rebuilding their E40Ds. The C-6 seems indestructible. I have been told to make sure you have a 'diesel' one though.
