I need a quick reminder please, do 31s fit under the hood of the bricknose ('87-'91) trucks without any issues? I remember they are too tall for one of the body style, can't recall which one tho...

They'll fit with minor modification:

From what I understand, group 31s will fit with zero modification in the slant nose ('80-'86) trucks but will only fit under the hood of the OBS ('92-'97) trucks with a LOT of modification.

Thanks for the linky, I actually remember this thread. So it looks like the 31s will be a no-go for me, as I have lots more wiring between the batteries and the fenders than most of ya'll do, and I got nowhere to move that to...

Out of curiosity, how much did the welding cable cost you?

They fit in my 92 without too much fuss. I trimmed the lip on the end of teh battery trays and put some spacer washers on the side mount bolts to move the trays inboard a bit for more clearance between the batt and fenders. IN any install, it's not a bad idea to strap a chunk of heavy rubber like a piece of mudflap over teh positive terminals just in case they get to moving around in there and try to bounce off the hood. There is a bunch of clearance though over the pos terminal. If you look from the front it looks like the hood won't close, but the pos terminal if mounted with them inboard, sets right under one of the recessed parts of the hood on each side so there is plenty of room

IF you guys want good wire check out Knukoncepts.com out or look for Shok wire. CCA. Their 1/0 has 5000ish or 6000 ish strands and is relatively cheap.

Im thinking about running 4 Group 31's myself. I can get Deka Intimidators for $100 Plus shipping from a buddy.

I actually used their KLMX wire but this stuff seems to be the replacement for it. Its only like .15 cents more than the KLMX stuff was and this is a lot more flexable so good deal to be.
