Well this is the only picture I have of the 86 F250 XLT Lariate Explorer 4 speed 4x4. Should be home in the next two or three weeks for some better pictures. Much better shape than the 86 F250 XL 4 speed 2wd. Going to go through the 4x4 and fix what is needed so I can get started on the 2wd build/restoration.

My 84

One more example of the wrong bed on a slantnose...

My kids call it "Frank"; short for Frankenstein, due them watching me piece it together in the driveway.
I actually started a spreadsheet to track where all of the miscellaneous parts came from, and I currently have parts out of 26 different vehicles installed in the truck

Drug it out of a field where it was left to rot for about 3 years when the water pump blew. Had a 460, C6, and 3.55 gears

Then drug home a 89 F250 with 7.3, ZF5, and 4.10 gears that had caught on fire.

Tore both of them apart, put the entire diesel drivetrain, with the exception of the transfer case, back in the 84.

That was about 5 years ago, been 100% reliable ever since.

Most of the mods listed in my sig, but there's a lot more than that done do it.

And here I thought I was one of the few oddballs who put the newer box on the truck. I was all hoping no one would notice. But it looks like I am not the only one!

I knew the lines would line up an all just didn't know how the tail lights would look.so looks like im getting a obs bed

The most obvious difference is the wheel wells/arch being different, but seems like it is more common then I thought. Is it just really hard to find a Bullnose/Slantnose bed in good shape vs an OBS?
