I know this is probably not the place to ask; but, where can I get good info on BrownLipe auxilliary transmissions??

Somewhere, someone said that there were some old pros on the subject at an antique truck site.




Does anyone know what that site might be??

I'll dig through my archive. I did some diggin on the subject, when I got the Brownie that is sitting on my shop floor, for the Pickel Truck.

I've found one page tht has some info on one of the common spicer units

But those look like cast iron case. I' remember somewhere hearing about some with aluminum case.
Havn't found much else.
I'd like to find out more myself, it would be nice to fit a 3 speed under direct over on my '92 f350

I' drove those things in semi trucks years back and it's quite handy to have just the right gear, it makes any truck feel like it's got more engine than it does.

That looks exactly like the one I have, except mine is double-under 4-speed and has a driveshaft flange instead of that big bell looking thing sticking out the rear.

I mis-named it in my earlier post. When I scratched the dirt off the ID plate, it is a DANA-Spicer.
