^^^ Yep, you're correct. So I hadn't really considered dropping them any lower than that.
Thanks for the props on how clean they turned out. That's like 6 hours worth of work right there. lol Enough that I wanted to pat MYSELF on the back when I got done. LOL

I will hopefully be seeing the intercooler setup in the mail today or tomorrow. The condenser mounts directly to the intercooler making that little part a breeze. I'm sure I'll have to do some cutting and stuff to mount it in my radiator support but that comes without question.

this means more boost with head studs correct:D
Not really...the difference in compression ratio's negligible. The A engine's 20.7:1 and the B engine's 21.5:1. I imagine you could safely get SOME more boost, but I honestly don't know how much....but I imagine it wouldn't be more than a couple of PSI difference. It's not like you can safely run 30 PSI ;)

And, cool re: the condenser/intercooler! ;Sweet

i thought later 6.9 had 22.5:1, and 7.3 had the 21.5:1, and my next question would a truck that come out in 10/83 still have the old engine cause i have one:D

The 21.5 number came from a Ford publication dating to 1985, so I would assume it's accurate (although I can't say for 100% certain).

As to your engine...I'm not sure. My truck was built in August '83 and has an A engine, but I had an '84 model year van (don't remember the build date) that had a B engine. Simplest way is to look at the emissions sticker on the valve cover. If it says A170, it's an A engine; if it says B170, it's a B engine. Another way to check is to look at your engine serial number. If the s/n's under 59209, it's an A engine...anything higher and it's a B engine.

Sorry for the thread hijack

The model A engines were in production until mid 84' I believe. So yes, you should have one. ;Sweet
