What are some of the best brand brake shoes people have run with long life and no defect problems such as linings cracking.

I've always used Motorcraft John. Never had a problem. I did cheat once and use aftermarket linings on my Ranger, and I paid the price on that one. When they got thin, the bonded lining cut loose and jammed up my drum.

I use Wagner riveted industrial. As was said, you generally have to order them, but what don't you have to order for a 80's truck! They are pricey, but they do last and stop VERY well!
