Brake Retarders

Ok.... Someone here has to have experience with a Telma Brake Retarder. Looks and sounds like a good product, I just want someone that has experience with it that isn't trying to sell it to me. How does it work for you? Can it be installed on a typical 3500/350 series truck? The big question.... How much money are we talking???

I don't know about that particular brand or on a pickup application, but I've seen plenty of similar electric retarders on trailers in the pacific northwest and they are truly amazing. That said, don't ever try to follow a loaded chip truck in Idaho off a mountain, especially those rocky mountain doubles rigs...even if you're empty. About halfway down, you'll realize that they have some secret mojo in those things...you guessed it, electric retarders.
