Not unless you either think it looks cooler or you get a really good deal on it...

i figured as much....im lookin to put one in my truck along with a matching pyro (already got a banks pyro) and VDO makes a nice 15psi boost gauge thats very reasonable....not that i have anything against isspro just they are expensive and i like the look of the VDO...

Normally 15 lbs would be enough, but, my 7.3 builds 14 lbs now and going up. Depends on if your going to be doing any mods.

Well I guess it depends on exactly WHAT boost gauge you're looking at...Autometer's boost gauges only come in 35, 60, or 100 PSI. I found a sport comp 35 psi one on ebay super cheap so that's what I'm running.

Now, most boost/vacuum gauges only go up to 15 or 20.

BTW if you get the VDO gauge, make sure you buy a boost gauge tubing kit. They don't give you one, I found that out when I bought one for my thunderbird.

Gauges read more dependably when the maximum expected reading is in the center of the range.

For example, if you expect boost levels of 10-PSI, a 20-PSI gauge would be best.

Also, it matters not what the gauge says it is for, be it water-pressure, fuel-pressure, oil-pressure, boost, air-pressure, or whatever, they are all the same.

My fuel-pressure gauges all say "water pressure".

I have a 200-PSI oil-pressure gauge that is for on-board air.

I still can't figure the fear of high boost pressure in the IDI engines; I believe it would take a lot more to blow a head-gasket than many are running.

I bought vdo boost gauge that goes to 15 psi and it works great and I have the vdo pyro to match. The only problem with the vdo pyro is, its kinda hard to read, but you get used to it.

I am well pleased with my dual-function pyro/boost made by ISSPRO.

It is plenty big enough to read easily.

My only wish is that it was an 0-40 on the boost side (they make them in this exact same gauge), whereas mine is an 0-20.
