Supposedly ATS still has an intercooler kit that will fit our engines, waiting on a email from them about it. I hate to spend $1k for it so I have been looking into using a 99 intercooler and piping but there are no salvage yards near here to spend some time at. I rebuilt my 7.3 about 2 1/2 years ago, has about 20k miles on it, runs great but always looking for a little more. My exhaust is 3" downpipe into 4" exhaust with a 24" long straight through muffler that exits in front of the rear tire. Are you working on the older DD 53/71/92s ?

i have been there a year. but i learned them well in school. i have rebuilt several with minor help from the old men in the shop. i am on the off-highway side--generators and such... my 94 is turned up 25% with my on design of intake and bigger radiator. it was one of the over-heater problem children... but it does fine now... after about 2 grand in head gaskets, sealed, radiator, etc. it still need an intercooler. when figured this out, it was about three monthes after the intercooler kit was discontinued by it only manufacturer... if havent the time yet to engineer one into it... someday i reckon... my wifes 99 and my 04 have taken over the heavy towing duties from it tho... now its just a toy... any suggestions would be great...

what ATS system did you install? and do run an intercooler? mine is already faster than my 99, until it is loaded...

When I looked at it, I didn't get to see the injectors. It's an 82, guessing original motor. Use to be a dump truck.... that had a snow plow.

What would your guess be for HP if it was originally a state highway rig w/ a dump bed and snow plow?
