So I picked up a 94 na IDI 2wd srw manual F350 CC LB for $1900 from a wholesaler... PO wired the starter to a toggle switch with a red cover. Fired it up just fine and drove to Baskin Robbins.
I flipped the cover closed on the switch after it started, and it didn't move the switch enough to turn it off.
Deep fried the starter. Didn't hear it since this truck has dual straight pipes... thought I was hearing gear whine or clutch noises, first ZF5 truck.
I graciously accept my bonehead award, and encourage everyone to use momentary switches for starters.
