They used to be all the rage, but over time have proven to not actually be the holy grail they were once thought to be.. IMO
For what it’s worth I run a mech lift pump, got a new Carter brand one and it works good so far.

That's the feelings these days.
You shouldn't get your build info from You Tube. I watched one video where the guy secretly turned up the IP on his friend's(?) truck one flat, and the driver acted like he had just put a turbo on the engine. Yes it might make a difference, but not that much of a difference.

Is IDIdiesel a reliable source for glow plug kits?
Yes, they are. I have purchased many sets of glow plugs from them. No fakes
They also have some very nice overpriced wiring harnesses that I have also installed in my 91.

I found the exhaust manifold gaskets and thermostat at a napa today but no luck on anything else. I will be putting in some order from a few vendors. What about coolant? I have easy access to delo ELC, is that any good for these engines?

Delo ELC is for diesel engine, not sure if it has SCA though

Afaik, Sca is best to dose separately and use test strips to get the concentration right
