For a while now i have had a syncro kit and needle bearing kit for my zf5 that needed to be installed. Along with my new flywheel and valair clutch kit. A couple days ago my tranny started grinding a little more than usual and making some different noises. On the 15th im pulling my 5er to pismo beach for a week. I figured its now or never because i didnt want to take the chance pulling to pismo. From dropping the drive shaft to having the tranny on the bench took me 55 minutes. The rebuild went really well. Few flying balls and springs but she is back together new syncros and all!. Syncros were well well worn out compared to the new ones. The dodge flywheel i had in it used to have a bushing in it for the input shaft. I installed a bearing instead when it first was installed. The bearing locked solid
. O well new flywheel has a HD bearing installed when i got it. As you can see i was using the ford clutch disk on the dodge flywheel. Amazing how well that disk did with what little surface area it had. Cant wait!!
Also finally made my custom a/c Lines. Got that all charged and she is blowing COLD
My blower in the cab never seemed to blow very much at all. When i would put it on high it should shut off and the notch right down from that it would blow a little. I pulled it apart and found the switch melted along with the connector. New switch and connector and i now have high!
