baught a new truck today

so i baught a new truck today to make into a project its a 96 f250 powerstroke with 160,000 miles runs good,power everythingit has no rust on it jus some surface rust it, does have a grey door on the passenger side so im planning on painting that and putting a flatbed on it and some new wheels,the only thing is wrong with it the tale shaft broke on the trans,and needs a new starter other than that its all good,i baught the truck for 1100 dollars seemed like to good of a deal to pass up so i baught it.now i have 2 fords now

So what parts do you need for the trans, Tailshaft ot replace the trans.

I'll look through my core pile in the barn tomorrow when I get off work. I know they aren't too expensive from transtar. Last one I bought was like 80 bucks.

Just checked and my price on an extension housing is still 80 bucks from transtar. Shipping would probably bring it into the 100 dollar range. They have a location in Norfolk but they'll hit you 125 over the counter for it. I get a discount from when I ran my tranny shop.
