battery cables

Ok,
I think I need new terminals but my cables are one piece connecting both batteries so one of the terminals is in the middle of the cable. How do I fix this?

Not sure what you mean but you can buy high quality stereo terminals an use 0 gauge wire from a stereo shop stinger or jl audio it's expinsive but good an easy to get. No many other brands are good.

You can make your own cables or find some nice ones online...I made my own,Napa has the connectors, you will need one flag connector. That's the double ended one, get good battery cables they'll last longer. Crimp AND solder and they'll last forever.

I made my own when I move the battery to the frame rail to make room for the cold air intake box. I just used some old welding lead and solder some end on them works GREAT!

Carquest is one of the best places to help put together what you need. Ask for Military style top post terminals and build cables accordingly. 0/2 between the batteries and 0/3 from the passenger battery to the starter (for the positive cable, I think that's what your referring to).

My first set consisted of welding cable cuz they didn't have battery cable, nice and flexible, but when I got an oil and diesel leak the cable cover started to get all droopy like it was gonna fall off....so I decided to remake it.

What i did to replace that terminal in the middle was to cut the cables free and use copper lugs on each cable. Then put a marine terminal on the battery. It fits on a regular battery post and has a stud on the other end that the copper lugs can fit over.

The only down side is that you need to have enough cable to reach the post again...

When making my own battery cables, I've used welding cable and I've used battery cable. The welding cable is very flexible but it is not tolerant of hydrocarbons (oil, Diesel fuel, etc). The insulation will swell up and turn to mush. Unless you can guarantee that oil will never get on the cable, I recommend sticking with battery cable. The insulation is tolerate of oil/Diesel.
