AXLE FLANGE BOLT THREAD SIZE ???

What size/thread are the axle-flange bolts ??

I am guessing 7/16 FINE, but am not sure.


Where is a good mail-order source for good quality studs to replace the bolts ??

they are course, go get new bolts from ford. Or a dana axle store. I would get studs from arp if that is what you really want.

Are they 7/16-coarse ??

I tried a 7/16-coarse on one that has the studs and conical wedges and it didn't want to thread on.

Maybe that type is different.

My main reason for wanting studs is on account of I am attaching brackets for Veederoot Hubometers to four Dana 70 equipped trucks, my Ford and three Dodges, and also a trailer that has Dana 60 hubs.

The late dana may be metric as is late ford axles. They gave me the wrong bolts once. Thats how I know
