Do you have a water temp gauge or oil pressure gauge? if not then i would get one of those to stick in that spot.

I'd do a second oil pressure gauge.

Water temp is good enough in the dash, it can be off with not too much problem, however, oil pressure tells you a lot more, including temp. Oil pressure starts sinking on a hot day, you know oil is heating up. The new gauge may be a whole lotta more accurate pressure wise than the factory gauge.

If I was going to double up on any gauge, oil pressure would be my choice every time.

Once my new tranny gets in, it will have both oil temp and pressure, but then again... it is an auto.... the manual trans.... well, if you smell brakes burning and you ain't braking......weeeeeelllll... just sayin'. :D
