well the thing is this will only fit the f450s and the newer superduties that have it.and trust me the parking brake that you guys have on the rear end is much better.but please dont bid on it as i seriously need it as the one in my 94 is about to fall apart.

If you're referring to that brake only fitting F-450's, 94f450sd is essentially right. Driveshaft brakes are meant to bolt to the back of a 4x4 tranny, with a yoke on the other side...so, if you wanted to put a driveshaft brake on a F-100-350, you would need a 4x4 tranny, and unless the yoke can be swapped for a transfer case mount (which I doubt), if your truck has 4 wheel drive, you would either need a divorced transfer case or you'd need to abandon the front drivetrain.

If you're referring to the other part...we've already been down that road, and you seem to be in a rather small minority there...

trust me this parking brake aint as good as you may think it is.have your driveshaft somehow fall out and decided to take the rear brake line with it.how you gonna stop the truck withno driveshaft?or better yet ho you gonna park the truck with no driveshaft so you can get out and grab a block to chock the wheels without the truck rolling away on you?park with one wheel on pavement and the other on something slippery like ice on a hill,say by to your truck asit rolls away.if i could somehow get a normal E brake system on my truck and keep the rear endand disks in it i would and then id bolt a transfer case to thetranny toget rid of that stupid idea of an e brake.i dont use the stupid thing cuz it does nothing.i cant use it to keep the truck from rolling while winching a car cuz one wheel will turn one way as the other turns the opposite way.i only need it cuz thebearings and seals in mine are gone.now remember that it is also not user servicable unless you got contacts with ford.when the shoes where out you need to replace the whole assembly at 1800.00.and if you do have said contactyou need to mark everything when you take it apart.it is balanced as an assembly wich means if youtake it apart every piece including the nuts and bolts need to go back in the exact same hole they came out of.the drum and yoke have to go back on the spindle exactly in the same position you took them off at.

Oh now you've gone and done it Rob! Now we'll get to hear a big arguement about how driveshafts fail daily!

Get a Mico lock system, and never touch that driveshaft brake again. AW Direct carries em. They have the regular line locks, or the better (much more expensive) systems with an actual pump that will keep the brakes applied even if there is a small leak.

I'd vote for the Mico lock, if you don't have a factory, original system that you trust. I've got a Mico, on The Packrat, and I've had the front end off the ground, winching, and the rear tires never moved, unless it slid on loose dirt or grass.

my whole issue is that the bearings in mine are shot.ive rebuilt it 4 times at 400.00 each time to only have the same problems,a seriousvibration and needing ne bearings and seals 2 months down the road.id use a mico but mines an automatic tranny.
