So I drove my ol truck over to the farm after another radiator change. Everything was fine and dandy going over. Started it back up to go back to the house and heard this odd noise.

At first I though my alternator was about to explode. So I popped the hood and nothing looked out of the ordinary, until I looked at my air filter

There should have been a nice shiny piece of tin in the center. Instead it was in riding against my turbo.

Needless to say I couldn't shut the truck off fast enough.

Just a fair warning to anyone thinking about one, put a screen between it and the turbo to catch the pieces!

You have got to be kidding me. I sure am glad that I took that filter off and replaced with an AEM. Sorry to hear the bad news. Sounds like you may need to get turbo rebuilt as well.

Well thanks to IDIoit I was aware of how terrible they are and was looking on summit for dry AEM filters the other day.

I'll take a picture of the turbo later to show the damage. Sure ain't pretty.

I honestly thought it was a nut or screw in the water pump from the radiator change after I realized it wasn't the alternator. Sounded like it was coming from up front.

Waiting on pics of the damage... Wonder if Spectre has a disclaimer covering their butts
