My black truck has a set of what I call "bucket mirrors" (because they are roughly the size and shape of a 5 gallon bucket) and they were probably good mirrors at one point. They mount up on the original loop mount, and take the place of the small rectangular mirror that comes stock. They also have a convex mirror down at the bottom for blind spot coverage...
Trouble with them is that, like most things on these old trucks, they are probably at least fifteen years old. They have no means of keeping them in place, except for some rubber grommets that have long since broken down and became dry, cracked hard plastic.
So, the driver's mirror needs to be adjusted every time you close the door.
But, like I said, they were probably good at one point...
