So I've been eyeballing a 1993 Chevy 2500 with the 6.5 turbo for a few days and wondering if the rig would be worth the money. I've owned multiple diesels before so I'm not exactly new to it, but I've never been around a 6.5/6.2 GM. I've heard horror stories but I've also heard lots of good. I would primarily use it for daily driving and light hauling stuff in the bed, I have other trucks if I have towing that needs done.
As far as I am aware, 1992/1993 did not use the notorious electronic injection pump I have heard so much about. I am not interested in another electronically controlled diesel, so is it true this is a purely mechanical truck?
The truck has 137k on it, 4x4, no clue on the rear end, with a 5 speed manual. It looks rust free.
Appreciate any advice.
