I have factory AC. In the pics on Rockauto they don't show that one part, the one that looks like a heater core. What is that, the accumulator?
Go to harbor freight and get a vacuum pump and a set of gauges and you can charge it yourself also. You might want to go ahead and get some r134a, it's going higher and higher in price. I heard the EPA set down a limit on how much r134a they could manufacture this year, so the price is jumping up. Sounds familiar doesn't it?Ok. Thanks.

Is it a somewhat DIY job for a shadetree mechanic, other than charging it?
Interesting. I was curious because the Sanden compressor was suggested for a retrofit on another one of my vehicles (not ford).David85- Went with Sanden for availability. Displacement per revolution is about 10%:less than the FS6. The Sanden pulley is 1" smaller. Higher compressor RPM makes up the difference.
