My c6 is (and has done so for some time) whistling when I drive in 1. gear. And recently it seems to do the same in 2. gear. It's shifts fine, but the sound is annoying and must be a sign of problems ahead. I'm considering pulling the tranny and have it overhauled, but I'm wondering if there are some easy fix I could try first..
It's not vacuum related, and a filter and oil change did not affect the sound. Someone has mentioned that it might be the oil pump, but if so shouldn't it affect all gears? I'm wondering if there might be an internal leak, but i'm absolutely ignorant about the internals of an automatic tranny.. Aren't there any parts that can be swapped out with the tranny in the truck, like in thevalve body? Isn't there a gasket or seals on the valve body?
